Rusty surfboards are renowned for pushing the envelope with board design and the STUMP is no different. With the whole fish craze in full swing and guys riding them all year round in all conditions the wider curvy outlines are no longer regarded as the summer slop board. This maybe the motivation your looking for, designed by Aido Wheeler the STUMP is a bit of a fish/shortboard hybrid and more of an all rounder then your regular fish with the pulled in tail and stubby nose.
With a single to double concave and the shortboard sized swallow tail you get maximum maneuverability combined with the wider nose it maintains paddle power and ability to get catch anything.
Best suited to 1 – 4 ft waves and ridden a few inches shorter than your normal stick you’ll be throwing down punts like Josh Kerr before you know it.
Check out the Josh Kerr video of him killing it on a 5’5” STUMP or pop into the Boardstore and see them for yourself.

Until next time,

We are excited to introduce the “Blak Box” to our JS range. The Blak Box is the next generation of JS’ small wave range and follows in footsteps of the super fun Nitro and V2.1.
The Blak Box offers a fuller curvy outline with a higher and more defined hip pulled from the fins into a nice straight directional tail curve through to the wider tail. The entry is super flat with a double scoop concave under chest leading into relatively deeper double concave between the fins and single concave exit out through the wider tail. The deck is flat giving the board an overall feeling of extra forgiveness allowing you to ride this board thinner than a normal performance board.
So basically this board makes it easier to catch waves , fast through flat sections, great for those rail to rail turns we all strive for which allows you to still have fun in otherwise crappy conditions.
You ride the Blak Box 3-4 inches shorter than your normal board and get ready for hours of fun.
My pick would be the 5’10” x 19 ¾ x 2 3/8”, it just feels perfect under the arm. Check them out at the Boardstore NOW!!!
But don't just take my word for it... listen to Parko!
